Tree Inspection Surveys
We provide professional tree inspection and tree safety surveys for homeowners, landowners and organisations. Surveys assess the visible condition of trees to identify defects, manage risk responsibly, and support long-term tree management.
Tree surveys can be carried out on individual trees, as walk-over inspections where only tree requiring works are recorded (sometimes called a "negative" survey), or as comprehensive site surveys covering all trees.
All inspections follow recognised industry guidance, including Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) and the National Tree Safety Group’s Common Sense Risk Management of Trees. Recommendations aim to reduce risk to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable while retaining the benefits of trees.
Inspections are undertaken from ground level, using binoculars where required. Where potential internal defects are identified, further investigations may be recommended to inform future management decisions.
Survey reports provide clear, proportionate recommendations, such as:
- Required works and priorities
- Ongoing management considerations
- Tree locations and digital mapping
This approach ensures tree safety is addressed responsibly while supporting the long-term retention and management of the tree stock.
